     Jodie J. Quam, 51 a lifelong resident of Sturgeon Bay passed away peacefully at home September 14th, surrounded by her loving family.  Jodie was born April 2, 1958 in Sturgeon Bay.  She will by deeply missed and is survived by her proud parents, Eugene (Buff) and JoAnn Quam of Sturgeon Bay, devoted sister Heidi Dyer (Tim Mashuda) of Green Lake, and forever grateful brother Erik (Sara) Quam of Andover, Minnesota, beloved nieces, Gretchen (Matt Savina) of Cameron and Eva and Beatrice Quam of Andover, Minnesota.  Jodie is also survived by her Aunt Carol and Uncle Lloyd Dellise, Aunt Anita Uehling, Great Aunts Elaine Polich and Jeanette Gillick, cousins and countless special friends.  She is preceeded in death by grandparents, Elmer and Eva Quam, John and Agnes Gillick and her aunt, Barbara Wilke.
    
Jodie waged an incredibly brave and courageous nine-year battle against ovarian cancer.  She lived her life with immense passion and savored the beauty and importance of family and friendship.  She knew every day was a special gift and lived each moment to the fullest.  Jodie was a graduate of Sturgeon Bay High School.  She loved walking, biking, traveling, gardening and spending time with her always-growing circle of friends and family.  She was employed by Jim Olson Motors and Maas Floral.  She also worked as a childcare provider at the Community Childcare Center of Door County for more than fifteen years where she touched the lives of countless children over the years.
    
A memorial service to celebrate Jodie's life will be held at Crossroads at Big Creek on Saturday, October 10 beginning at one o'clock in the afternoon.  In lieu of flowers, Jodie's family requests donations be made in her memory to Door CANcer or The Jamar Foundation for Patient Needs at the University of Minnesota.Online condolences may be made at forbesfuneralhome.com or caringbridge.org/jodiequam

A special thank you to Dr. David Conger for his care and compassion, Door CANcer, Unity Hospice, the nurses and staff of Floor 7C at the University of Minnesota Fairview and Dr. Anthony Jaslowski and the entire oncology staff at the Door County Cancer Center for the incredible care Jodie received during her nine year battle.
