Helen L. Neinas

 
 

 

 
 

     Helen L. Neinas, 87, Sturgeon Bay died at Golden Living Center-Dorchester on February 5, 2009.  She was born June 9, 1921 in Door County to Herbert and Ida (Wilke) Krueger.  On February 12, 1941 she married Sylvester Neinas in Kolberg.  They farmed in the Town of Brussels for many years.  She was a cook at Southern Door School for 25 years.  Helen was known for her Belgian pies and enjoyed gardening.  She was an active member at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Kolberg and a member of the Ladies Aid.
    
Survivors include her three children, John (JoAnn) Neinas and Linda (Dennis) Viste, Sturgeon Bay; Jerry (Becky) Neinas, Brussels; seven grandchildren, Julie (Brian) Flaten, Jackie (John) Nystrom, Jim (Laurie) Neinas, Stephanie (Eric) Rowley, Lori (John) Powalisz, Jennifer (Craig) Piczkowski, David (Katie) Neinas; 13 great grandchildren, Max Flaten, Tyler and Abby Nystrom, Macoy Neinas, Jake Gunnlaugson, Iain Rowley, Gracie and Alexis Powalisz, Lucy and Henry Piczkowski, Kylie, Charlie and Tyler Neinas; two sisters, Elaine Sperber and Bernice Karas; two brothers, Edward and Herbert Krueger; sister in law, Betty Krueger; brother in law, Carl Sixel; many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester in 1990; a son, Dale on October 9, 1956; two brothers Milton and Leonard Krueger; four sisters, Margaret Wiesner, Mabel Grovogel, Florence Sixel, Grace Long and an infant sister Violet.
    
Funeral Services will be Monday, February 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Kolberg,  Rev. John Seelman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.   Friends may call at the Forbes Funeral Home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and then after 10:00 a.m. Monday at the church until time of services.
