Genevieve Helen Dwyer, 85, of Brussels, passed away at Whispering Pines on Aug. 4, 2009. She was born on Dec. 14, 1923 in New York to Edward and Abigail (Roche) Heller. On Aug. 19, 1944 she married John J. Dwyer in New York. Genevieve and her husband lived most of their lives in New York and Indianapolis. They retired to Brussels in 1998 to be near family. She was a member of St. Francis and St. Mary Parish in Brussels. She and her husband enjoyed the friendly people they met at church and in the local community.
Survivors include her husband, John; 4 children, Nancy (Thomas) Check, Dousman, WI, John Dwyer, South Carolina, Thomas Dwyer, Brussels, and Kathleen (Randall) Palmer, Pennsylvania; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Irene Stewart, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister, Gertrude Amter; and 2 brothers, Edward and Walter Heller.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Friday, Aug. 7, 2009 at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Brussels. Memorials may be directed to St. Francis and St. Mary Parish in her name. |
