 Frank Hobart

 
 

 

 
        Frank J. Hobart, 95, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on March 8, 2010 at Pine Crest Village.  He was born November 19, 1914 in Sawyer to James and Antonia Hobart.  Both parents were from Bohemia.  On September 18, 1939 he married Sarah Delwiche in Maplewood.  She preceded him in death on May 12, 2009.  Together they owned and operated Frank’s Superette on Maple Street for many years.  Frank also worked at Baudhuin Yacht Harbor.  He was a former West Side Alderman representing the fifth and ninth districts of Sturgeon Bay for six two years terms.  Frank was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a Fourth Degree Knight and served on the Honor Guard.  He was life long member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, a Lector, Past President of the Holy Name Society and Past President of Corpus Christi Board of Education.  Frank enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the Sunday night Sheepshead Club.  He and his wife also delivered Meals-On-Wheels. He was a wonderful father and loved and enjoyed his grandchildren.

     Survivors include a daughter, Barbara (Dennis) Rimert, Sturgeon Bay; three sons, James (Lynn) Hobart, LaCrosse; Thomas (Paula) Hobart, Sturgeon Bay and Todd (Lori) Hobart, Germantown; eight grandchildren, Tracy, Cory, Nick, Charlie, Jennifer, Thomas, Lindsay and Bradley; five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Nathan, Taylor, Oliver and Finn.  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sarah, an infant son, Frankie; 2 sisters,  Mary Rockendorf and Alice Anderson.

     Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, the Rev. Carl Schmitt officiating.  Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.  Friends may call at Corpus Christi Church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.   Memorials may be given to St. John Bosco School in his name.
