Dorothy G. Friehe, 87, of Sturgeon Bay passed away Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Door County Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 28, 1921 in Sturgeon Bay to Rasmus and Martha (Larson) Oenes. On March 30, 1946 she married Fred Friehe. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1995. Dorothy and her husband lived in Park Ridge, Illinois for many years and were very frequent visitors to Door County. She moved to Sturgeon Bay permanently after her husband passed away. Dorothy enjoyed her membership at Hainesville Lutheran Church and was a member of the Ladies Aid there.
Survivors include two children: Connie (John) Decker, Lake Geneva; Marty (Beth) Friehe, Sturgeon Bay; three grandsons: John Decker Jr., Thomas (Kim) Decker, Eric (Leah) Friehe; two great-grandsons: Shawn Decker and Cameron Friehe. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday March 6, 2009 at the Hainesville Lutheran Church. Rev. Mike Zolnosky officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 at the Forbes Funeral Home on Thursday March 5, 2009 and at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of services. |
