David C. Foss, 77, Sturgeon Bay passed away at Whispering Pines on Sunday, April 19, 2009 surrounded by his family. He was born February 12, 1932 on Washington Island to Howard and Marie (Boyce) Foss. On March 15, 1952 he married Donna Mann on Washington Island, she preceded him in death on January 29, 1990. David sailed for many years on the Great Lakes. He retired as Captain of the Tug “Ludington” for the Army Corps of Engineers.
Survivors include his children, Cheryl (Doni) Hunt, Sturgeon Bay; Ray Foss, Algoma; Jeffrey Foss, Green Bay; two grand daughters, Brittany and Arielle Hunt; a sister, Beverly Cook, Sturgeon Bay and Naples Florida; a special friend Jennifer Corbisier, Sturgeon Bay. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers Doug and Bobby.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the Forbes Funeral Home Rev. Mike Zolnosky officiating. Burial will be in Hainesville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Forbes Funeral Home after 12 noon Wednesday until time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Hainesville Lutheran Church or Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church.
