Betty J. Pierquet, 81, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Dec. 16, 2009 at Park View Manor in Green Bay. She was born on May 20, 1928 in Oshkosh to Arden and Marie (Conrad) Sheldon.Betty attended schools in Oshkosh and graduated from Omro High School. After high school she worked for Deny’s Clinic and for Baums and McGoldricks Department Stores.On April 9, 1949 she married Cy A. Pierquet in Green Bay. She and her husband owned and operated Pierquet’s TV and Appliance with locations in both Green Bay and Sturgeon Bay. They worked side-by-side for 32 years and retired to Sturgeon Bay and Sarasota, Florida.Betty enjoyed oil painting, fishing, playing cards, playing the piano, crocheting, bowling, and traveling. She also enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross.
Survivors include 2 children, Cy Pierquet Jr., and Debra (Kevin) Welsh, Boulder,Co; 2 special grandchildren, Eric Welsh and Kelly Welsh; a sister-in-law, Anna Sheldon, Oshkosh; a nephew, Rick Sheldon, Las Vegas, NV; a cousin, Marie (Skip) Hartman, Sturgeon Bay; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Marvin Pierquet, Jerome Pierquet, Doloros (Ray) Heyrman, Shirley (Jim) Morgan, Myrna (Robert) Pasterski, Kathleen La Luzerne, Loreen (Larry) Cumber, Helen Pierquet, Lucille Pierquet, Delores Pierquet, and Marion Pierquet.She was preceded in death by her husband Cy, her parents, a brother, Richard Sheldon, and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009 at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay with the Rev. Nathan Lewis officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 PM at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name. |
