 Anthony S. Recupero

 
 

 

 
 

     Anthony Samuel Recupero, 77, passed away on August 11, in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.  Tony was born in West Carol Township, Pennsylvania, to Anthony and Ruby (Buterbaugh) Recupero on November 27, 1931.  On June 1, 1953 Anthony married Winifred Zack and together shared 56 years of marriage.  Anthony worked as the Chief Park Ranger in Trumbull, Connecticut for 19 years as well as a special Police Officer.  He was a member of the National Guard, a Boy Scout Master for troop 65 for many years, an avid hunter, fishermen, and outdoorsmen.  Upon his retirement, Tony and his wife, Winnie, traveled extensively across America for 10 years, living full time in their RV, frequenting all the National Parks and National Forestry Lands
    
Anthony is survived by his wife, Winifred, four children; Rebecca (Richard) Martin, Oxford, CT, Gretchen (Steve) Schmelzer, Sturgeon Bay, WI, Clay (Karen) Recupero, Southbury, CT, Theodore (Susan) Recupero, Kanosh, UT; sisters and brother; Rosalie (Frank) Platko, Edna (Robert) Crego, and Edward (Benny Jean) Recupero all of Connecticut; six grandchildren; Josiah, Joshua, Noah, Luke, Anthony, and Linnea.
    
A memorial service in Anthony’s honor will be held in Connecticut at a time to be announced.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Door County Senior Resource Center - 832 N. 14th Ave., Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235.  Online condolences may be made at www.forbesfuneralhome.com.
